Tunes on the Terrace – Sunday 17th August
At The New Inn, Shalfleet, we love nothing more than a Sunday filled with good food, great company, and fantastic live music. But last night’s Tunes on the Terrace proved that sometimes the best nights are the ones that don’t quite go as planned!
Our scheduled performer, Darryl Wyn, sadly had to cancel at the very last minute. With guests having travelled from near and far to see him, it could have been a real disappointment.
But what happened next showed community spirit at its best. Thanks to some quick thinking and the help of our very own Jenny from The New Inn team, we managed to find a solution – and what a brilliant one it turned out to be!
The incredibly talented Framp & Amanda Duo stepped in to save the day. As the evening drew in, we brought the music indoors, creating a cosy, intimate atmosphere that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along.
The highlight of the night was a beautiful rendition of Ralph McTell’s Streets of London, which had the whole room singing. And to add to that, we even had Ethan, who had sailed over especially for the event, strum a few tunes of his own – adding to the magic of the evening.
We can’t thank Framp & Amanda enough for stepping in at such short notice and putting on such a wonderful performance. They were truly fantastic – so much so that we’ll definitely be inviting them back again soon!
